Terms of Use

1. Who may use StudyMaster

An account belongs to one adult: a parent or guardian, or a member of staff at an academy that uses StudyMaster. You must be 18 or older to hold an account.

Children use StudyMaster through a student profile that an adult sets up. A student profile is not an account and cannot be created by a child.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including what the children on it do. Keep your password to yourself and keep your children's usernames and PINs to your own household.

2. What you may do with the material

Everything StudyMaster shows you — the explanations, worked examples, questions, answers, solutions, diagrams, booklets and worksheets — is written by us and stays ours. We are giving you permission to use it, not selling it to you.

You may use it for the learning of the children on your own account, or, if you are staff, for the students of your own academy. You may print or download a booklet or worksheet and hand it to those students.

You may not copy, republish, post, sell, share or hand on the material to anyone else. You may not use it to build a competing product, to train a machine-learning model, or to stock another site or app.

You may not scrape the site, use a script or bot against it, share one account between households, or work around the limits on how much material an account can see in a day.

Every page and printed sheet carries an invisible mark that identifies the account it was served to. If material of ours turns up somewhere it should not be, that mark tells us where it came from.

3. Accounts, PINs and honesty

Give us details that are true, and keep them up to date. Tell us if you think someone else has your password or your child's PIN.

Do not use the site to be abusive, to break the law, or to interfere with how it runs for anyone else.

4. What we promise about the content

We check every question before it is published, and we say plainly how in our verification documentation. We still write it as people, so we may be wrong. If you find an error, tell us with the report button on the question, and we will fix it.

StudyMaster is practice material. It is not a school, a tutor, or a guarantee of any result in any examination.

5. Suspending or ending access

We can suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, in particular section 2. Where it is fair to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right; where copying is under way, we may act immediately.

You can ask us to close your account at any time, and we will. Write to us at the address in section 8; the Privacy Policy says what happens to your family's records.

6. Your rights under Australian law

Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded, and if we fail to meet them you may be entitled to a remedy.

Beyond those guarantees, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability is limited to supplying the service again or refunding what you paid for it.

7. Changes

We will change these terms from time to time. Each version carries a date, and the current one is shown at the top of this page. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.

We record which version was in force when you accepted, so we can tell what you agreed to.

8. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales, Australia.
