StudyMaster for parents — the one-page guide
StudyMaster is adaptive maths practice for NSW Years 7–12, used by your academy between lessons. Your child answers one question at a time on a phone or laptop; the questions get harder or easier as they go, hints come one at a time, and every answer is followed by a worked solution.
1. How your child signs in
Students do not have email accounts. Each child has a username and a 4–6 digit PIN. They go to /student/sign-in, type both, and they are in. Nothing about your family is shown on the student side.
2. Setting or changing a PIN
You saw each child's first PIN once, when you claimed your family. To change it, open Family → the child → New PIN. A new PIN signs every device out. After five wrong PINs the account pauses for 15 minutes; a parent can set a new PIN straight away.
3. Your family pages
Family shows one card per child: this week's practice, accuracy, minutes, levels gained and three plain-English sentences (a strength, what needs work, the next review). Open a child for the topic-by-topic map. Parents & consent holds the consent statement you accepted, a second-parent invitation and your email preferences.
4. Quizzes
Tutors set quizzes for the class; you can set a short one for your own child from their page. You get an email when a quiz is set and the day before it is due; your child gets the results with worked solutions and "practise what you missed" links.
5. The weekly email
Turn on the Sunday summary in Parents & consent: the same numbers as the dashboard, once a week, no marketing. It is off until you switch it on.
6. Cost
If your academy sponsors your family's seats you will never be asked for a card by StudyMaster — the academy covers it. Otherwise your academy will tell you how it bills.
