StudyMaster for students — how it works
StudyMaster gives you one maths question at a time and gets harder or easier as you go. Ten minutes a day beats an hour once a week.
1. Signing in
Go to /student/sign-in. Type your username and your PIN (4–6 digits). No email needed. Forgot them? Ask a parent — they can set a new PIN from their Family page.
2. Learn first, then practise
On your home page every skill has a Practise button and, when your tutor has approved it, a 📖 Learn link. Learn shows the idea in short sections, the formulas and worked examples. Read it once, then press Practise this skill. "Today's plan" at the top tells you what to do first.
3. Hints and second tries
Stuck? Press Hint — you get one at a time. Got it wrong? You usually get another go, and the feedback tells you what kind of slip it was (the unit, the form, a common mistake). You are never marked down for a wrong answer; levels only go up when you show you can do it.
4. Worked solutions
After the question closes, Worked solution shows every step. Read it properly — the same idea comes back later as a review. If a question looks wrong, use Report a problem with this question under it.
5. Quizzes
A quiz from your tutor or your family shows on your home page. In a quiz there are no hints and one try per question. When it closes you get your result with every solution and a "practise what you missed" link.
6. Why the site sometimes pauses you
If you open lots of Learn pages very fast, reveal solution after solution without trying, or answer faster than anyone could read, the site thinks it is a robot or a shared login and pauses your account for 15 minutes (longer if it keeps happening). It is not a punishment. Work normally — read, try, check — and it never happens. If it did happen in class, your tutor or a parent can lift it straight away.
7. Keep your PIN private
Your PIN is yours. Do not share it or sign in for a friend — every page you read is marked with your account, so a shared login gets both of you paused. Press Sign out (top right) on a shared computer.
